It ends and we turn it into poetry.

It was just red.β

blocking: intriguing, isolates alia, reveals her body lang
camera: peeks, pries, but calm
lighting: moody, mysterious, face-centric
set/art: lived-in, cozy, public-but-private
colour: tense, deep, nostalgic

This is an appreciation tweet for @MrVijayVarma's shirts in #DahaadOnPrime

Hard to remember the last time something as regular as a cuban-collar half-sleeve shirt elevated a character so much.

Powerful message by @Javedakhtarjadu to cap a fun little chathttps://t.co/CHoZcpycUv
One of my all time favourite films.

RGV & the stellar cast got a lot of well-deserved plaudits, but the unsung heroes were Hemant Chaturvedi for his sepia closeups,
Jaideep Sahni for his uncompromising story & taut dialogues, Chandan Arora for his sharp cuts, and Dwarak Warrier⦠https://t.co/UVIenE6UgI

Madgaon Express is the The Hangover of Hindi films. Equally good too!

Second film this year after Merry Christmas that's rich in references and lands them effectively.

Don't miss it.
Sriram Raghavan's flourishes in #MerryChristmas blew my mind

Such confident film-making!
Completely different from anything he's made & anything you've seen
I have many problems with the story (particularly, how it ends), but the craft of the master director left me gasping π€―
Another Sunday evening of feeling melancholic about a fictional past bygone, nostalgic for friends I've never even known, and homesick for an imaginary home .... thanks to the haunting themes of Mia&Sebastian, Yumeji, and The Godfather. Sigh.

What a wicked film #MonicaOMyDarling is.@Vasan_Bala's best work yet.

What shooting! What production design! What writing! Everything was A+. Fun music too.
What acting by everyone in this ensemble cast! Sikandar Kher is a revelation. But Radhika Apte takes the cake. My god!
Half way in, I was thinking: "Good romcom, but why Richard Linklater?"

Then come the twists.
Then the movie itself takes new forms altogether π²
Do watch this sexy sitcom, crime caper, dark comedy noir, & social commentary on ambient evil - all in one.https://t.co/lGThntfpjH
Liked 'Killers of the Flower Moon'

It's got standard Scorsese themes of criminal machinations, nonchalant depravity, cynical violence, tragic betrayal, poignant guilt, & unbridled ambition in his typical sweeping style with an ensemble cast & epic setting.
Will win many awards!
LSD, Shaitan, Wasseypur, Talaash, Shahid, Kai Po Che, Queen, Aligarh, Trapped, Newton, Stree, Ludo, Badhai Do, and now Monica.

Sure he wasn't the lead actor in a few of those early films. But still ... @RajkummarRao is racking up quite a body of work before he even turns 40.
The signs were visible in Dil Dhadakne Do itself many years ago, but now after AK vs AK, Thar, and #JugJuggJeeyo, it's clear that @AnilKapoor is well into a Bachchan-esque second innings.

Wish the dialogues were more 'local' (a lifelong-Konkani Kamat says 'bambai', a Dadar-native Maharashtrian says 'dikkat'). The song in the fort didn't sound local too.
Too indulgent in a couple of places. And what's with the name π€.
But good overall!
Oh no.

Really liked his work in Eternal Sunshine, Batman Begins, The Best Exotic, Duplicity, MI Ghost Protocol, and so many more, but especially in Michael Clayton with him going "I am Shiva, the god of death" ππ½ https://t.co/DqlDjkpn6W
